Heywood Road, Cinderford – we have been advised that this road will be closed (as per the attached plan) on the 10/08/2026 – 18/08/2026 to allow for works by Ecopower UK.
Emergency and pedestrian access will be maintained.

🚧 Temporary Road Closure Notice – Belle Vue Road, Cinderford
We have been advised that Belle Vue Road, Cinderford will be temporarily closed from 7:00pm on Wednesday 29 July 2026 until 6:00am on Thursday 30 July 2026 (night closure).
The closure is required to allow Severn Trent Water to carry out essential works.
✅ Emergency vehicle access and pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the closure.

International Town Criers Day

📣 Oyez, oyez, oyez! 📣
On the 13th July it was International Town Criers Day – a chance to celebrate a wonderful tradition that has been bringing news and announcements to communities for centuries.
Before social media, smartphones and 24-hour news, the voice of the Town Crier was how people found out the latest news and happenings. Today, Town Criers continue to play an important role as proud ambassadors for their communities, keeping history and tradition alive with plenty of character, ceremony and, of course, volume!
Here in Cinderford, we are incredibly lucky to have our own award winning Town Crier, Jer Holland, who proudly represents our town at events and celebrations. His enthusiasm, dedication and unmistakable voice help bring a real sense of occasion to Cinderford and the Forest of Dean.
A huge thank you to Jer for continuing this fantastic tradition and for being such a wonderful ambassador for Cinderford.

Cinderford Town Council were delighted to learn that our Town Crier, Jer Holland, has once again brought home top honours at the Rugeley Town Crier Championship 2026!
Not only did he win the prestigious Best Dressed Crier award, but he also made history by becoming the first Town Crier in the competition’s history to retain the UK Champion title.
This outstanding achievement is a testament to his dedication, professionalism, and passion for the ancient and proud tradition of town crying. We are incredibly proud to have such a remarkable ambassador representing our town.

Woodgate Road, Cinderford – Road Closure Notice

Temporary Road Closure Notice – Woodgate Road, Cinderford 🚧
Please be aware that part of Woodgate Road (400108), Cinderford, will be temporarily closed and restricted to allow essential drainage works to be carried out.
📅 Closure Dates:
15 June 2026 – 19 June 2026 (or until works are completed)
📍 Location:
From outside property No. 29 to outside property No. 35, covering approximately 40 metres of Woodgate Road.
⚠️ During the works:
No stopping, waiting, or loading will be permitted within the restricted area.
An alternative route will be signposted on site.
Pedestrian access to properties and emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times.
We appreciate your patience and understanding while these important drainage improvements are completed.

Steam Mills Road – Upcoming Roadworks Notice

🚧 Steam Mills Road – Upcoming Roadworks Notice 🚧

Residents are advised that works will be taking place on Steam Mills Road next week on behalf of Openreach. Temporary manually controlled traffic lights will be in operation throughout the works to help maintain traffic flow.

📍 Monday & Tuesday
Works will be carried out just beyond the Primary School, where contractors will be excavating across the carriageway. Manually controlled traffic lights will be in place between 9:15am and 2:45pm. The road crossing will be completed as quickly as possible to minimise disruption.

📍 Wednesday, Thursday & Friday
Works will move further along Steam Mills Road near the Murco Garage, where a new track will be installed in the carriageway. Manually controlled traffic lights will again be used to help keep traffic moving safely.

Contractors will be delivering letters to nearby residents, businesses and the school to provide advance notice of the works.
