GCC Update to Resurfacing Scheme on Latimer Road – Please note that due to the current weather warning there will be no works on Friday 14th November, and the scheme will be extended to Tuesday 18th November.
The road will be closed for road markings on Wednesday 19th November.
Speed cushions will be reinstated on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th November
GCC apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Cinderford Brook & River Lyd

flood alert has been issued by the Environment Agency.

Flood alert in force: Rivers in the Forest of Dean

Flooding is possible for: River Lyd and Cinderford Brook

Rising river levels overnight may lead to flooding.

Flooding is possible on 14 November 2025.

Flooding may affect low lying land and roads adjacent to the river from Gloucester to Chepstow. Other locations that may be affected include Westbury and Lydney.

We are closely monitoring the situation.

Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.

 As per the attached plan on the 24th November 2025 to 28th November 2025 works will be undertaken by Severn Trent Water.
Emergency and pedestrian access will be maintained.

Remembrance Sunday 9.11.2025

Cinderford’s Remembrance Sunday Service and Parade will take place this weekend on Sunday 9th November 2025.

The Parade will leave from the Town Council Office (Belle Vue Road) to the War Memorial at Market Street (The Triangle) for the Service of Remembrance.

The Service Sheet is attached.  Paper copies will also be available.

Latimer Road

We have been advised of a Temporary Traffic Order to close Latimer Road Cinderford for carriageway resurfacing for approximately 8 Days (excl. weekends) between the hours of 09:00 to 15:00.
The PROPOSED start and end dates are currently Monday 10th November 2025 until Wednesday 19th November 2025. Any queries please contact GCC Highways.

Cinderford Fireworks

Please see the attached poster for details of the 2025 Fireworks.  Due to the pitch improvement works at the rugby club the event will now be held at Steam Mills Playing Fields, Steam Mills, Cinderford, GL14 3JD on 6th NOVEMBER 2025.  GATES OPEN 5.45PM – FIREWORKS  at 7pm.
