Neighbourhood Watch Scheme Cinderford

I hope you have seen and read the posters that have been put up in Cinderford advertising this important meeting. It takes place on Tuesday 18th November at The Wesley in the Bellevue Centre, starting at 7.00pm

A new scheme has been started in Cinderford covering the centre of the town and this is their inaugural meeting. You are warmly invited to attend and your experience as existing members will be invaluable.

As Chair for the Forest area, I am keen to increase the network of NHW members and the efficiency of NHW activities. This is important today as the number of Police Officers has been reduced but the potential number of criminals is expanding. We are the eyes and ears of the Police on the streets and can help in so many ways. Come to this meeting to find out new developments in fighting crime and how you can play a part to make Cinderford safer and reduce the level of crime.

This meeting is an opportunity for all Cinderford members to work together and be reminded of what NHW can do for an area – reduce the fear of crime and make people feel safe.

I look forward to meeting you on 18th.

Latimer Road Works

GCC Update to Resurfacing Scheme on Latimer Road – Please note that due to the current weather warning there will be no works on Friday 14th November, and the scheme will be extended to Tuesday 18th November.

The road will be closed for road markings on Wednesday 19th November.

Speed cushions will be reinstated on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th November

GCC apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Cinderford Brook & River Lyd

A flood alert has been issued by the Environment Agency.

Flood alert in force: Rivers in the Forest of Dean

Flooding is possible for: River Lyd and Cinderford Brook

Rising river levels overnight may lead to flooding.

Flooding is possible on 14 November 2025.

Flooding may affect low lying land and roads adjacent to the river from Gloucester to Chepstow. Other locations that may be affected include Westbury and Lydney.

We are closely monitoring the situation.

Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.

get ready to act on your personal flood plan if you have one
follow the guidance in what to do before or during a flood

Mount Pleasant Road, Cinderford

Emergency and pedestrian access will be maintained.

Remembrance Sunday 9.11.2025

Cinderford’s Remembrance Sunday Service and Parade will take place this weekend on Sunday 9th November 2025.

The Parade will leave from the Town Council Office (Belle Vue Road) to the War Memorial at Market Street (The Triangle) for the Service of Remembrance.

The Service Sheet is attached. Paper copies will also be available.

Latimer Road

We have been advised of a Temporary Traffic Order to close Latimer Road Cinderford for carriageway resurfacing for approximately 8 Days (excl. weekends) between the hours of 09:00 to 15:00.

The PROPOSED start and end dates are currently Monday 10th November 2025 until Wednesday 19th November 2025. Any queries please contact GCC Highways.

Cinderford Fireworks

Please see the attached poster for details of the 2025 Fireworks. Due to the pitch improvement works at the rugby club the event will now be held at Steam Mills Playing Fields, Steam Mills, Cinderford, GL14 3JD on 6th NOVEMBER 2025. GATES OPEN 5.45PM – FIREWORKS at 7pm.

MusicWorks – Forest Hub

Cinderford Town Council are proud to support MusicWorks Forest Hub. A number of Councillors attended their first birthday event last week in support of the team, young people, and partners.

Cinderford Town Police Information Point

PCSO Jones and PCSO Morgan will be holding a Police Information Point (PIP) at The Belle Vue Centre, Belle Vue Road, Cinderford on Saturday 11/10/2025 between 13:00 to 15:00hrs.
